Hello all you pop pickers and
gig goers, here's some news of forthcoming gigs in the world of Poo Promotions,
hope you can get out to them, let yer hair down and enjoy yourself!
On
SATURDAY 24th JULY at THE LEITRIM BAR, SLIGO TOWN a very
special treat for all fans of original New York punks THE RAMONES comes to SLIGO
in the form of Scotland's premier RAMONES tribute band, all the way from
Edinburgh, it's THE REMAINS!
The band will obviously be playing all the best songs from the highly
influential RAMONES and bashing them out just like the boys used to back in 76,
77 - "one, chew, free, four - dundundundundundundundun der der " (that's the
start of blitzkrieg bop, if you cant tell). so expect all the classics - Sheena
is a punk rocker, commando, pinhead, beat on the brat, shock treatment, psycho
therapy, rockaway beach, cretin hop, teenage lobotomy, now I wanna sniff some
glue - the list is endless - top notch punk pogo power 3 chord 2 minute
masterpieces, each and every one of 'em! what more do you want?

Support comes from Arklow's own, THE N11'S, back from the
dead this punk power pop trio are back with a vengeance and an aim to play as
many gigs in as many places as they possibly can, spreading the sound of THE
N11'S to every far flung part of this country (and beyond) and bringing aural
happiness and joy to all those who witness them - so get there early and don't
miss them!

FRIDAY 13th
AUGUST sees a return to the outdoor events Poo is hosting at
McGIRLS BAR, BALLINAMORE, Co. LEITRIM
when the night will
be full of the brilliant sounds of Jamaican ska, reggae and Latin music ,
brought to us by the amazing SKAZZ from Clare -this band
play all the best in old school ska and reggae, guaranteed to get the crowd up
and dancing from start to finish, the rhythm is inescapable, the vibes are the
hottest and the sounds unsurpassable - get up and strut your stuff, get skanking
to the heavy heavy sounds of THE SKAZZ - you won't be disappointed!
There will be at least one support band and there will be hot food available as
well (and not forgetting the lovely pints being served in the bar). This will be
an open air event, unless it rains (which it won't), in which case the gig moves
into the gig shed. The kick off time for this event will be
around 10pm, entry will be a very reasonable €5.

SATURDAY 14th
AUGUST sees a gig happening at THE LEITRIM BAR SLIGO TOWN
organised by Paul 13 of EXCUSES fame
with THE BLAME, all the way from NEW YORK USA. this band
play mean hard street punk rock n roll with more than a touch of MOTORHEAD in
the mix which makes for a powerful full on in yer face hard rock night of music
and mayhem - don't miss this chance to see some real AMERICAN PUNK LEGENDS
(never mind Dropkick Murphy's and Rancid - this is the real deal!).
Supports to be confirmed. entry is €10. doors at 9pm. Over 18's only.
